CAI Technologies offers reverse osmosis (RO) systems designed for both whole house and POU (point of use) applications.
Whole house RO systems are custom engineered based on the requirements of the specific application. Systems can be engineered for customers having availability of only brine/salt water, or contaminated water that requires treatment by reverse osmosis. Larger commercial and industrial equipment is also available, and our engineering staff will be pleased to provide additional information and a quotation - just contact us for more details.
POU systems are available to provide purified water for drinking and cooking. Point of use reverse osmosis systems come in two distinct designs; a traditional design, that incorporates filters and a RO membrane to manufacture purified which is stored in a holding tank until dispensed, and a tankless design. Tankless design means water on demand – no holding tank required – tankless systems offer a smaller footprint, and are great for installation in a under sink applications where space can be limited. Both designs have their advantages. Traditional designs requires only one reverse osmosis membrane, and are water efficient at lower price. Tankless designs are more compact, and can deliver large amounts of treated water, but also require two RO membranes. Reverse osmosis membranes are expensive, and need to be replaced every three years in normal applications. So selecting the best design depends on your specific needs. Always choose an reverse osmosis system that carries an NSF-58 or WQA Gold certification – all good reverse osmosis systems do – there are many lower cost systems available, but these are generally lower quality as well. First-class reverse osmosis systems provide high quality water, and you can be confident that any system certified to these standards will be a top performer.
One Tankless system you might consider is the GE/Merlin Tankless RO System features continuous-flow water production, so no storage tank is required. The system can provide up to 720 gallons of water per day, is NSF standard 58 approved, and has a compact design that can easily fit beneath the kitchen sink. Comes with an installation kit that includes a designer faucet and all interconnecting tubing, the Merlin installs quickly and easily.
The Microline TFC-4 system is a top-rated standard design, and comes with a 4-gallon holding tank. Also NSF standard 58 certified, it supplies outstanding quality water, and uses only high quality components. The TFC-4 (also called the TFC-35D) installs easily - with simple instructions included.
